    October 9, 1944 - June 21, 2021

    Darlene Alma Thees, age 76 of Celina, passed away at the Gardens at Celina on June 21, 2021 at 9:46 pm. She was born on October 9, 1944 in Sidney to the late Ferdinand and Viola (Berning) Bruns. On July 3, 1965 she married Ronald Thees and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2002. Darlene is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Todd Bader) Brunswick, Celina; three brothers , Robert (Martha) Bruns, Mike Bruns and Tom Bruns; five sisters, Thelma Grilliot, Wilma (Dale) Quellhorst, Clara (Terry August) Beougher, Millie (Paul) Donovan, and Vickie Giere; three sisters-in-law, Carol Thees, Margy Miller and Mildred Crouch; a brother-in-law, Bob (Barb) Thees; five grandchildren, Savannah Thees, Celina, Tylor Thees, Celina, Brendan Thees, Ft. Wayne, Kayla Brunswick, Celina and Ethan Brunswick, Celina; eight great grandchildren, Cole, Makaylin, Maria, Phoenix, Brycen, Daylon, Haizley and Cohen; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her son, Scott Thees; three brothers, John Bruns, William Bruns and Donald Bruns; four sisters, Ruthann McMahn, Marie (Bill) Hornberger, Martha (Steve) Young and Helen Pierson; and five brothers-in-law, Carl Grilliot, Larry Giere, Jack Thees, Paul Crouch and Don Thees. Darlene was a 1963 graduate of Parkway High School in Rockford. She retired from Huffy Bicycle Manufacturing Company in Celina after 32 years of service. Darlene attended the Celina First Church of God and was a member of Celina Moose, Celina VFW Post #5713 and Celina Eagles Aerie #1291. She was very active person who loved spending time with her family and friends, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed gambling. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina; a memorial service will follow the gathering at 11:30 am in the funeral home with Pastor Randy Christian officiating.
