    Jim L. Ayers

    October 9, 1935 - January 29, 2016

    Jim L. Ayers, 80, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, at 10:52 pm. He was surrounded by his loving family, at his home, in St. Marys. He was born October 9, 1935, in Van Wert County, to Ford and Carol (Manley) Ayers, both preceded him in death. On July 19, 1955 he married Jeanette Winkler, they were together for 60 years; she survives at the residence in St. Marys. Other survivors includes a daughter, Cathy (Rick) Mullenhour, St. Marys; two sons, David Ayers, Xian, China, and Douglas (Missy) Ayers, St. Marys; a brother, Stanley (Pat) Ayers, Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Joyce Linn, Ohio City; ten grandchildren, Chris (Heather) Mullenhour, Sidney, Scott (Missy) Mullenhour, Kettering, Jason Stienecker, Wapakoneta, Corey Lutterbeck, Celina, Amber Lutterbeck, St. Marys, Michael Ayers, Chattanooga, TN, Adam and Melissa Ayers, both of Greenville, and Makenzie and Emily Ayers, both of St. Marys; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friends; and the FD12. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Lutterbeck; a sister, Marjorie Ayers; and a great granddaughter. Jim was a 1954 graduate of Ohio City High School. He worked as a mechanic, machinist and had pastored at Mt. Union U.B. in Spencerville and McGill U.B. in Payne, OH He was a member of Church of the Nazarene, St. Marys. Jim enjoyed spending time with family, working at church, mowing and helping others. His main concern was getting today’s youth on the right path of following Jesus and facing realities of life, work and family. Visitation hours will be from 2 – 8 on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the Cisco Funeral Home of St. Marys, located at 1175 E. Greenville Rd. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 am on Friday in the Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy M. Smith, officiating; where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Moulton, OH. Contributions can be made to Grand Lake Hospice, St. Marys and/or Church of Nazarene, St. Marys.
