Von Dean Snyder Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Von Dean Snyder, age 87, of Celina, passed away on January 28, 2021 at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater. He was born April 5, 1933 in Union Township to the late Charles & Bertha (Werts) Snyder. On April 4, 1954 he married Esther (Harner) Snyder who survives in Celina. Dean is also survived by his daughter, the Reverend Carol McKay of Weirton, West Virginia; grandsons Jacob and Jonah McKay. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Bertha (Werts) Snyder; two brothers, Eldon and Carl (Jack) Snyder; a half-brother, William (Bill) Springer; two sisters, Katherine Harner and Floy Whetstone; and two half-sisters, Evelyn McCain and Marie Shimp. Dean retired from Reynolds & Reynolds Company after forty-four years of employment as a press operator. During retirement he assisted bereaved families at Cisco Funeral Home. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Dean was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. Visitation will be on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. Attendees are required to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19. Masks are required by attendees at visitation and funeral service. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
