Obituary

Alice H. Hussey, age 79, of Celina, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Mercer Health in Coldwater.

She was born on December 5, 1946, in Crestline, Ohio, to the late Boyd and Sadie (Gregory) Ginter. On December 25, 1963, she married the love of her life, Larry O. Hussey, who preceded her in death on March 14, 2007.

Alice is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Renee (Mark) Kinney of Mendon and Jennifer (Kevin) Zizelman of Celina; six grandchildren, Jason (Taryn) Kinney of Anna, Josh (Abbey) Kinney of Mendon, Caleb (Macy) Kinney of Rockford, Rachel (Chad) Wright of North Baltimore, Ohio, Stefanie (Adam) Walters of Waynesfield, and Don (Samantha) Zizelman of Ruskin, Florida; and six cherished great-grandchildren, Nora, Max, Stella, Aiden, and Kollyns Kinney, and Ryley Walters.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Ginter; seven sisters, Mona Perkins, Virginia Howard, Vera Hetrick, Dorothy Alspach, and Elizabeth Hensley; and two infant sisters, Mary Ann and Nora Jean Ginter.

Alice was a 1964 graduate of Bucyrus High School in Bucyrus, Ohio. She was a devoted member of Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, where her faith remained an important part of her life.

Alongside her husband, Larry, Alice helped build a successful family business. Together they owned and operated the St. Marys Furniture Store and L & A Furniture for many years. They also owned several rental properties, including Fairview Resorts, and proudly managed Celina American Legion Post #210 for many years. Alice was also employed at Mercer DD, formerly known as Cheryl Ann Programs, in Celina. Above all, she treasured her role as a homemaker, loving wife, and devoted mother, finding her greatest joy in caring for her family.

In her later years, Alice especially enjoyed serving others through her church, often taking elderly friends out for dinner and shopping. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many family members and friends who meant so much to her.

Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Homes in Celina.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Mick Whistler officiating. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday morning at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake United Methodist Church, 119 E. Fulton St., Celina, Ohio 45822.
