Arthur James Quinn, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at Advent Health Stuart F. Hospice of Palm Coast, Florida. He was born on October 2, 1947, to Pearl and Arthur T. Quinn, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Carlotta Whittaker; they were married on April 1, 1977; neither of them would answer who the fool was.
Along with his wife and parents, Art is preceded in death by his partner, Connie L. Mullins, and sister, Maureen Stone.
Arthur is survived by his friend and companion, Sonya; brother-in-law, Bob Stone; his children, Tony (Heather) Quinn of Minnesota, Jason (Kari) Quinn of North Carolina, Ian (Rose) Quinn of the Philippines, Taylor (Ryan Benson) Rhodes of Ohio, and Zoe Quinn of Ohio. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Joseph, Ivy, and Ardeleana; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Art served 18 years on the Dayton Police Department before retiring and moving to St. Marys where he became a milk hauler for Largers Milking Company for roughly 25 years.
Art and Carlotta spent their lives traveling the world. They adopted three children from Romania and continued their travels with their children; sometimes visiting their son who served in the Air Force. After Art’s wife passed away, Art met Connie Mullins, and he retired from milk hauling. He then moved to Florida, where he enjoyed his retirement and became an avid bridge club member. He then met his final partner, Sonya, who cared for Art with dedication and love until his final days.
A celebration of Art’s life, on his birthday, will be held on October 2, 2026, from 6:00-9:00 pm at the FOP, 4275 Powell Rd, Dayton, OH, 45424.
Memorial contributions can be made to the AdventHealth Stuart Hospice House in Palm Coast, Florida.
