Barbara Sharp Reynierson, age 102, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Vancrest of St. Marys.
She was born on May 26, 1923, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Benjamin and Genevieve (Kauffman) Sharp. On December 27, 1949, she married the love of her life, James H. Reynierson, Jr., who preceded her in death on May 7, 2006. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, John J. (Christine) Reynierson of New Bremen; William S. (Doris) Reynierson of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and Dr. James Harold (Debbie) Reynierson III of Evans, Georgia. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Lori, Jamie, Jessie, Sharp, and Lydia and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Emma, Harvey, and Harper.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Ben Sharp, Dede Crews, and Betty Nichols.
Barbara was a 1941 graduate of Needles High School in Needles, California. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and later received a Master’s degree in Art from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. A dedicated and passionate educator, Barbara retired from Danville High School after many years of inspiring students through her love of art and creativity. Her impact as a teacher and mentor lives on in the many lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at The First Presbyterian Church of Danville, 500 W. Main St., Danville, Kentucky 40422.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society, 778 N. Danville Bypass, Danville, Kentucky 40422.
