Brenda Sue Martin

Brenda Sue Martin, age 74, of St. Marys, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at Grand Lake Healthcare Center in St. Marys.

She was born on September 17, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Shade and Polly (Young) Hoskins.

Brenda is survived by her two sisters, Loretta Cathcart of St. Marys and Joy Lynn Lauver of Las Vegas, Nevada; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Adams; and a brother, Doug Hosking.  

Brenda was a proud member of the ViaQuest Workshop for the Disabled in Dayton. Although she faced the challenges of cerebral palsy throughout her life, Brenda’s strength, determination, and joyful spirit allowed her to live a full and meaningful life.

She found joy in painting, listening to music, and watching classic western movies from the 1960s. Brenda loved attending concerts, spending peaceful moments by the lake, and traveling with her friends from her group home. Her bright smile and loving nature touched everyone who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys (1175 E. Greenville Road), with Pastor Robert Sweeny officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Lake Hospice in St. Marys.
