Brendan S. McKinney, age 28, of Celina, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was born on February 14, 1997, in Dayton, Ohio, to Pastor Randy and April (Pontious) McKinney of Elyria, Ohio.
On September 24, 2022, Brendan married the love of his life, Brittany (Bullock) McKinney, who survives in Celina.
Also surviving are his children, Hadley, Holdyn Bullock, and Meryda and Wallace McKinney; his parents, Pastor Randy and April McKinney; his paternal grandparents, Delbert and MaryAnn McKinney of Elyria; his maternal grandparents, Dave (Sherry) Pontious of Fairborn; his sisters, Tiffany (Brent) Boudreaux of Louisiana and Mattea (Jacob) Foster of Elyria; seven brothers- and sisters-in-law; and fourteen beloved nieces and nephews.
Brendan was a 2015 graduate of Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio. He was employed at Crown Equipment Corporation in Celina and was a member of Cross Community Church in Elyria. Above all else, Brendan treasured being a father to his children. He also enjoyed camping, hiking, relaxing in his hammock, and sharing in Brittany’s home-cooked meals.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Dr. Joshua Steinke officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McKinney family.
