Dolores “Elaine” Boone, (Willrath), age 89, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and deep devotion to her family.
Elaine was the daughter of Burris Edward Willrath and Donna “Dolores” (Martz) Willrath. Her father preceded her in death on March 14, 1937; her mother, Dolores Fetters preceded her in death on April 11, 2010.
Born October 7, 1936 in Celina, Ohio. Elaine proudly enlisted in the United States Navy where she honorably served her country in the elite Navy WAVES program. While serving, she met the love of her life, a fellow Navy member, her late husband, Billy R. Boone. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and their cherished son George R. Boone.
Elaine will be most remembered for her dedication to her sons. Moments enjoyed while she was a den leader during her sons’ years in the Boy Scouts of America, supporting the boys in little league, karate and countless special memories of a life spent together.
Elaine also enjoyed her time volunteering at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in San Diego.
Per her wishes, she has been cremated. Part of her earthly remains will be laid to rest between her brothers, Larry Wayne Fetters and John “Keith” Fetters, reunited with the family who shared her early years, and the remaining ashes will be spread at sea to be reunited with her beloved husband and cherished son. She will now be with her family in heaven and with her dogs, Schultzy, Spooky, Heidi, Heather, and Brutas, whom she loved - so much.
Elaine is survived by her son Paul R. Boone, daughter-in-law Charity Boone, nieces, Teresa (Pat) Fisher Fetters, Debora Shaffer, great-niece Jennifer (Daniel) Ehrenberg and her children DJ, Olivia and Abigail. Great-nephew Eric Alwine and his children Lillian and Elizabeth, sisters-in-law Margie Fetters and Lyn Sweeney, and grandchildren, Kyle Wesley Boone, Kody Ray Boone and Noah Herrel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mercer Memory Gardens on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at noon. Military honors will be presented by the Celina American Legion Post 210 and Celina VFW Post 5713.
Cisco Funeral Homes of Celina and St. Marys are honored to care for Elaine and her family during this difficult time.
