Iris Benilda Cordero Chico

Iris Benilda Cordero Chico, age 84, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on October 12, 2025, at The Miller Place in Celina.

She was born on November 14, 1940, in Camuy, Puerto Rico, to the late Bernardo and Juana M. (Chico) Cordero. On October 20, 1962, she married Benjamin Cordero, and they shared a loving marriage until his passing in 1992.

Iris was a woman of deep faith whose strong devotion to God guided her throughout her life. Proud of her Puerto Rican heritage, she cherished the culture, traditions, and memories of her beloved island home. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gladys Maria (Dr. Juan V.) Torres-Condero, who was her pride and joy.

A memorial service celebrating Iris’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Bob Sweeney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
