James Gott, age 81, of Celina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home in Celina. He was born on March 26, 1944, in Spencer, Ohio, to the late Myron “Mike” and Leona (Burkhart) Gott. He married Petey (Bull) Gott, who preceded him in death on February 13, 2015.

James is survived by his children, James David Gott; Robb Dugger of Celina; Corey (Misty) Gott; Dan (Jessica) Dugger of Bedford, Indiana; Tamara Cremeans of Arizona; and Christina Cremeans; twelve grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was a 1962 graduate of Black River High School in Sullivan and proudly served his country in the United States Army. James spent many years in the workforce, working at Ford Motor Company in Wellington before moving to Celina, where he was employed at Huffy Bicycle as head of security. He later retired from Crown Equipment Corporation, where he also worked in security. In addition to his professional career, James proudly served his community as an auxiliary police officer and as a driver for the EMS in Wellington.

In his free time, James enjoyed competitive shooting, bowling, and golfing.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
