Judy Bowers, age 81, of Celina, entered into her eternal rest at 7:42 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Gardens of Celina. She was born on December 20, 1943, in Celina, to the late John and Lucille (Bryan) Nuding.
On May 29, 1965, Judy married the love of her life, David Bowers, who survives at their home in Celina. Their marriage of sixty years was a testament to faith, love, and devotion. Together, they were blessed with two children, Brian (Kelly) Bowers of St. Marys and Stacy Bowers of Toledo. She also leaves behind her treasured grandson, Brandon Bowers of Cincinnati, and her brother, Bob (Edie) Nuding of Celina.
Judy was a 1962 graduate of Celina High School and continued her education at the Ft. Wayne School of Cosmetology. She enjoyed using her gifts as a hairdresser at Lombards Beauty Shop. She faithfully served at Celina West School for more than thirty-one years, beginning on the playground before helping to establish and lead the school’s first library, where she worked as librarian for eighteen years.
An active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, Judy lived out her faith daily in the way she loved and cared for others. She found joy in fellowship with her church family, cherished friendships with her colleagues from West School, and held a special bond of over fifty years with her dear “Senile Sisters,” a close-knit group who shared laughter, bridge games, and countless memories together. Judy also had a love for sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds and Green Bay Packers, but above all she valued time spent with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, where a funeral service celebrating Judy’s life and faith will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Northgrove Cemetery in Celina.
