Lawrence Larkin, age 89, of Celina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 25, 1936, in St. Marys, to the late Martin M. and Daisy Belle (Raudabaugh) Larkin. On June 22, 2013, he married Jill A. (Shade) Larkin, who survives at their residence in Celina.
In addition to his wife, Jill, Lawrence is survived by his children, Robert L. (Stacy) Larkin of Coldwater and Judith A. (Steve Boothby) Larkin of Colorado; step-daughter, Danielle Emenhiser of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Katie (Jack Kiser), Natalie, Shelby (Carson Heitkamp), and Emily Larkin, all of Coldwater, and Madeline, Elise, and Clair Emenhiser, all of Fort Wayne; and siblings, James P. (Rita) Larkin of St. Marys, Thomas D. Larkin of St. Marys, and Mary Audrey Larkin of Pinehurst, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Martin M. Larkin; and sister, Judith A. Haworth; step-son-in-law, John Emenhiser.
Lawrence was a proud 1955 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War era. Following his military service, Lawrence dedicated 38 years of hard work and commitment to Goodyear Tire and Rubber in St. Marys before retiring.
He was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and a member of both Celina American Legion Post 210 and Celina VFW Post 5713. He was also a life member of St. Marys VFW Post 9289. Lawrence took great pride in his family and cherished the moments he spent with those he loved. He was known for his kindness, dedication, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the Larkin family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
