Linda L. Temple, age 85, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 2:24 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
She was born on July 26, 1939, in Elyria, Ohio, to the late Samuel and Belinda (Bennington) Petroff. On May 22, 1958, she married the love of her life, Jackie “Jack” L. Temple, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2020.
Linda is survived by her children: Jackie Temple of Wapakoneta; Cindy (Angelo Zenquis) Elliott of Jackson Center; Cheryl (George) Yates of Fort Loramie; John Fullerton of Piqua; Julie, Jacquline, and Jeremy; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was welcomed into eternal life by her beloved daughter, Rosie Kuhr; her sister, Virginia; and two brothers, Sam and Carl.
A proud homemaker, Linda dedicated her life to raising her family, a role she held with deep love and devotion. She was a longtime member of Victory Center Church of God in Wapakoneta, where her faith remained a cornerstone throughout her life.
Linda Lou, as she was affectionately known, took the hand of her Savior to reunite with her husband Jack, whom she dearly missed. The two greatest loves of her life were Jack and Jesus. Despite life’s hardships, she remained steadfast in her faith and poured love into everything she did.
A devoted mother of eight, Linda’s love for her children never wavered, even for those she didn’t have the chance to raise. She spoke of them often and held each one close to her heart.
She found joy in the simple moments—dancing in the kitchen with her family, wearing her favorite lipstick, chewing Doublemint gum, and always claiming she was “39 forever.” Linda will be remembered for her warmth, her kindness, and her unforgettable spirit. To know her was to love her.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys, with her son-in-law, Angelo Zenquis, officiating. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Botkins Cemetery in Celina, Ohio.
