Marla K. Puthoff, age 74, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on January 16, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William and Donna Jean (Becker) Doseck. On March 22, 1985, she married the love of her life, Gary L. Puthoff, who survives at their home in St. Marys.
Marla is also survived by her son, Kevin (Jennifer) Puthoff of Spencerville; four stepchildren, Mathew Puthoff of Hilliard, Christopher Puthoff of Celina, Randy (Micki) Puthoff of Van Wert, and Carla (Nick) Wendel of Coldwater; seven grandchildren; and her brother, Ronald (Sharon) Doseck of Lima.
A 1969 graduate of Spencerville High School, Marla worked for Huffy Bicycle in Celina for ten years before dedicating fourteen years of service as the secretary at St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, where she was also a devoted member.
Marla’s greatest joys in life were her family, her garden, and the simple beauty of nature. She had a deep love for animals and a kind, gentle spirit that touched all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys (1175 E. Greenville Rd.), with Rev. Matt Overman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Graveside services will follow at New Salem Cemetery, located at the corner of Deep Cut Road and State Route 116 in Spencerville, Ohio.
