Shirley Ann Meyer, age 77, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. She was born on May 13, 1949, in Celina, Ohio, to the late LeRoy and Susan (Casperson) Reier. On February 7, 1970, she married Dale R. Meyer, and he survives at their residence in St. Marys.
In addition to her loving husband of 56 years, Shirley is survived by her children: Lisa Cummins of Wapakoneta, Lori (Terry) Bernholt of St. Marys, Lynn (Rick) Walls of Celina, and Leah (Mike Jr.) Perez of Brookhaven, Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to Naomi (Brian) Fletcher, Drew Cummins, Gabriel (Hannah) Walls, and Abigail (Samuel) Mossburg. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Also surviving are her siblings: Maxine Thobe of Sidney, Betty Partington of Sidney, Barbara (Virgil) Frantz of Versailles, Esther Wells of New Bremen, Florence (Mark) Boeckman of Georgia, Henry (Carol) Reier of Celina, and Helen (Carl) Magoto of Anna; along with two sisters-in-law, Linda Reier of Sidney, and Ruth Reier of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick Reier and George Reier; two sisters, Nancy Werling and Ruth Schwenzer; a half-brother, Jack Reier; and brothers-in-law, Herman Thobe, Richard Partington, and Jack Wells.
Shirley was a 1968 graduate of Versailles High School. She retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service at Crown Equipment Corporation in Fort Loramie. She later worked part-time at the Quality Inn & Suites in St. Marys, where she enjoyed helping with breakfast service and visiting with guests.
A faithful member of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church in Minster, Shirley wore many hats within the church and was actively involved in numerous ministries. She was a woman of deep faith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time with her family. Her kindness, servant’s heart, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys, with Pastor Robert L. Warnick officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in St. Marys.
The family kindly asks those attending to wear something colorful in honor of Shirley’s love of bright colors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel Baptist Church, designated for the children’s ministry.
