Sue Ann Klosterman, age 75, of Celina, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on August 9, 1950, in Portland, Indiana, to the late Jim and Marlyn (Marsh) Schlemann. On December 10, 1977, she married the love of her life, Donald Klosterman, who survives at their home in Celina. Together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by an infant sister, Carol Ann Schlemann.
Sue is also survived by her children: Michele (Forrest) Trisler of Waldo, Ohio, Kristy (John) Gruber of Lebanon, Ohio, Jeff (Lesley) Klosterman of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and Brian Klosterman of Delaware, Ohio; and by her seven cherished grandchildren, Sylvie, Louisa, Abigail, Ethan, Andrew, Reece, and Grant.
She was a 1968 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Sue devoted more than 30 years of service to Celina City Schools as a Special Education Aide, where she touched the lives of countless students with her patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
A faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, Sue lived her faith through service to others. She was actively involved with the Mercer County Animal Protection League, where she fostered many animals in need. She also served for several years as secretary of OAPSE, the Ohio Association of Public School Employees, and volunteered with Giving Thanks, helping deliver meals to those in the community on Thanksgiving Day.
Sue had a wide range of interests and talents. She was an avid animal and bird watcher and a proud member of the Mercer County Corvette Club. She took great joy in driving the Corvette she and her husband shared. She loved reading, sewing, and creating counted cross-stitch pieces, and she generously shared her creativity by making costumes for school theater productions. Sue especially loved Christmas and carried its spirit with her throughout the entire year. Above all, she treasured her family and the time spent with them.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sue’s life from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with a Memorial Liturgy to follow at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Prashanth Bandanadham officiating.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League of Mercer County, P.O. Box 663, Celina, Ohio 45822.
