Terry “Ted” P. Stachler, age 85, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on March 24, 1941, in Celina to the late Paul and Clara (Dickerson) Stachler. On June 3, 1967, he married Ellen A. (Maury) Stachler, who survives at their home in Celina.
Ted is also survived by his children: Shane Stachler of New Knoxville, Lance (Melissa) Stachler of Newark, and Heath (Kristi) Stachler of Celina. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Audrey (Nathan) Hunlock, Luke Stachler, Emily Stachler, Matt Stachler, Kortney (Cade) Schoenleben, and Hunter Stachler. He is also survived by his siblings: Ron (Janet) Stachler and Sue Rolfes, both of Celina, and Jane (Bill) Rye of Glynwood; along with sisters-in-law Joyce Stachler of Celina and Pat Brockman of Portland.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Mike, and John Stachler, and a brother-in-law, Barry Rolfes.
Ted was a 1959 graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Celina and later earned his barber’s license from the Ohio State Barber School in Columbus. He dedicated 50 years to his craft as a barber and was the proud owner and operator of Ted’s Barber Shop in Celina, which he opened in 1967. He truly loved his work and the relationships he built over the years.
He was a member of New Horizons Community Church in Rockford and the NRA. Ted had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening. He especially enjoyed time spent outside, whether working in the yard or mowing on his Bad Boy mower. In earlier years, he was very active at St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, where he helped build many memorable parade floats, and he had a strong love for worship music. Above all, Ted loved his family and will be deeply missed by them all.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at New Horizons Community Church in Rockford, with Pastor Ken Meyer and Pastor Matt Rhynehart officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice, 230 W. Main Street, Coldwater, Ohio 45828.
